JDM · JOINT DESIGN & MANUFACTURING

Custom Robot Development

Joint design and manufacturing for robot brands, industry product companies, integrators and algorithm teams. Reuse standard chassis, shared hardware, unified interfaces and in-house algorithms to develop your product, upper modules and applications.

From Functional Prototype to Mass Production

PLATFORM-BASED PROJECTS · TARGET TIMELINE

  1. 1month

    Functional prototype

Reuse the chassis and controls, integrate upper modules and test core functions.

  2. 3months

    Design finalization

Complete scenario testing and design iterations; agree mechanical, hardware, software and acceptance requirements.

  3. 6months

    Mass production

Complete pilot validation, sourcing, assembly and test preparation, then begin volume production.

These are cumulative target milestones from confirmed requirements and solution for projects that substantially reuse existing platforms. Agree the schedule against the project scope and solution.

Reuse the Framework. Focus on Your Product.

Reuse existing platforms

Select a chassis by payload, dimensions and motion requirements; reuse shared hardware, device management and mobility capabilities.

Connect your robot brain

Integrate customer algorithms or third-party intelligence through ROS 1 / ROS 2 drivers and TCP/IP interfaces, with scope agreed per project.

Develop and validate in parallel

After agreeing interfaces, develop upper modules, electrical systems, controls and applications in parallel, then validate against acceptance criteria.

Manufacturing and ongoing supply

Use Shuangling Group manufacturing resources to prepare BOMs, sourcing, assembly and testing, progressing through pilot validation to volume production.

Agree algorithm configuration, interface support, reusable modules and manufacturing arrangements for each product and project.

What Can Be Customized

  • Chassis dimensions, mechanics and payload configuration
  • Electrical power, device mounting and upper-module layout
  • Control and communication interface adaptation
  • Integration with customer or third-party intelligence
  • Complete robot engineering and prototype validation

How We Collaborate

Shining Robotics delivers the agreed platform and product engineering. You define the application, upper modules, environment and intelligence. We agree deliverables, software and source-code scope, intellectual property, acceptance and supply.

Standard drivers include source code; algorithms do not. Agree other software and firmware boundaries per project. Assess the schedule, cost and additional services against the project scope.

Custom Development FAQ

What are the JDM stages and reference milestones?

Requirements confirmation, development and integration, prototype validation, and production introduction. Reference milestones: functional prototype in 1 month, design finalization in 3 months, and mass production in 6 months. These are cumulative target milestones from confirmed requirements and solution for projects that substantially reuse existing platforms. Agree the schedule against the project scope and solution. Agree responsibilities, deliverables, source-code scope, intellectual property and acceptance per project.

Can customer intelligence or navigation be integrated?

Connect customer or third-party intelligence through ROS drivers or TCP/IP interfaces. Confirm motion control, feedback and algorithm integration against the selected configuration.

Are driver and algorithm source codes supplied?

Standard platforms include ROS drivers, driver source code and TCP/IP interface documentation. Algorithm source code is not supplied. Agree other software, firmware and intellectual property per JDM project.
